I’ve been in business for almost 6 years now, every year I had an Annual Holiday portraits held in our Westtown,NY studio but this was the Fist Year of our Annual Holiday Mini’s & Santa at Rocky Bar Christmas Tree farm to be held every year 2nd week in November. I never knew this place existed, sure I passed signs for it during Christmas time but never took the moment to stop in; until last year. My curiosity was peaked and I stopped in and I think my eyes may have exploded old time-faded red wood barn, curvy driveway, those old fashioned oversized Christmas bulbs (yes I am a sucker for those) and not to mention acres upon acres of Christmas trees of all types. But the best part is not only the scenery (yes that is a plus) but Ed and his daughter Erika who run the farm are so warm and down to earth that you feel right at home. On Saturday we held the Holiday Minis WOW, was that tons of fun at the end of the sessions the kids blew, threw and played around with fake snow. And Sunday, we had Santa with a dusted path (of fake snow) to get back to him, a couple of the kids said ” I followed the magic snow and it led me to you.” Santa replied “it follows me where ever I go.” his eyes lit up and I felt a touch of the Christmas magic, another boy was so excited he had his eyes covered to surprise himself when he saw Santa, Santa covered his eyes too and they opened at the same time; priceless. But that was just a few of the stories their was a week old newborn, kids and their letters, the screamers ahh, its these memories that matter and make my job as a photographer fulfilling . And to top off the night everyone snuggled down with their parents sipping hot cocoa eating Slate hill Apple Farm & Markets famous donuts listing to Santa reading Christmas stories.
